This summer we are commemorating the 150th anniversary of one of the painting masterpieces created by Vassily Polenov, in
Veules, France. We will be happy to celebrate this occasion with talented Artists from all over the world! We invite Artists to come
to Veules-les-Roses, a charming village in French Normandy, to enjoy working together en plein air.
Rules and Principles
Between Saturday, September 14 (starting from 10 a.m.), and Sunday, September 15, 2024 (till noon), the participants of the Weekend are invited to set up their easels all around Veules-les-Roses. Artists may produce artworks en plein air, any size, using. any mediums.
Participation is free of charge. Accreditation to the Event is obligatory.
Selected participants will be offered accommodation at Veules-les-Roses VVF (Villages Vacances Familles).
Travel and meals are the responsibility of the participants. The Artists are also responsible for bringing their own art supplies including materials, easels, seating etc.
The artworks produced during the Weekend will belong to the Artists.
The Organiser reserves the right to use images for promotional purposes.
Final Exhibition
Artworks created during the Weekend are to be submitted for the final one-day Exhibition. The organiser reserves the right to select the works to exhibit. The selected works will be displayed at the Michel-Frager Hall in Veules-les-Roses, on Sunday 15,
2024. Prizes will be awarded to the best artworks.
Eligibility and Selection Process
Any Artist experienced in working en plein air, is eligible to apply for this Event. Please, send us your CV and a short motivation
letter in English/French, containing a link to your online gallery.
The selection committee is comprised of practicing artists, Vassily Polenov Association staff and Veules-les-Roses Mayor’s office
members.
The committee will announce the selected participants by June 20, 2024.
